Sunday School
Age-graded Bible classes for children every Sunday morning before the main worship service, with lessons, singing and memory verses.
At Truth Baptist Church there is a place for everyone to grow in the faith, serve others, and belong to a church family. Whatever your age or stage of life, you will find a ministry here where you can connect, learn the Word, and make an eternal difference in Abuja and beyond.
"Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me." — Matthew 19:14
Our children's ministry exists to plant the Word of God in young hearts early. Through Sunday School, our midweek Awana programme and a network of weekly Bible clubs across Abuja, children hear the Gospel in a way they can understand, learn to memorise Scripture, and are cared for by workers who love them. Parents can be confident their children are in a safe and orderly environment at every service.

Our midweek children's programme, combining Bible lessons, Scripture memory, games and awards to help children build a lasting knowledge of God's Word.
We run 24 Bible clubs each week in neighbourhoods around the city, bringing Bible lessons directly to children where they live. These clubs have opened doors to many families in our community.
Parents are always welcome to sit in and see how our classes run. Speak to any of our workers after a service.
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers." — 1 Timothy 4:12
Our youth ministry helps teenagers move from simply attending church to owning their faith. Each week young people gather for Bible teaching that speaks honestly to the pressures they face, alongside fellowship and friendship with others walking the same road. Our aim is to see a generation of young Nigerians grounded in Scripture and useful in the Lord's service.
Our weekly gathering for Bible teaching, singing, and open discussion about living for Christ at school, at home and among friends.
Young people are not spectators here. They take part in singing, ushering, media and soulwinning alongside the rest of the church family.
Our young people attend the Student Missions Institute for Training in Evangelism, where they are equipped to run Bible clubs and win children to Christ. See the S.M.I.T.E. section below.
"I was in prison, and ye came unto me." — Matthew 25:36
What began as a small local outreach has grown into one of our most far-reaching ministries. In partnership with Prison Alliance International, our teams now serve more than 40 correctional facilities across 16 states, bringing the Gospel, Bible study materials and practical encouragement to men and women society has forgotten. Workers from around the country are trained through this ministry.
Teams travel to correctional facilities to preach, distribute Bibles and follow up with inmates who have professed faith in Christ.
Training sessions equip prison ministry workers from churches across Nigeria with the tools and doctrine needed for effective ministry.
This ministry always needs more trained workers and prayer partners. Get in touch if the Lord is stirring your heart.
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God." — 2 Timothy 2:15
Providence Baptist Seminary is a ministry of Truth Baptist Church, founded to train men and women called to serve the Lord. Students receive solid grounding in Bible doctrine, preaching, and pastoral work, and are sent out to strengthen and plant churches across Nigeria. Many of our graduates now serve in pulpits and mission fields nationwide.
Systematic study of Scripture and Baptist doctrine, forming the foundation of every course of study.
Students serve in the local church while they train — soulwinning, teaching, and assisting in the ministries of Truth Baptist Church.
If God has called you to full-time service, we would be glad to speak with you about training here.
"He that winneth souls is wise." — Proverbs 11:30
The Soul-Winning & Leadership Conference (S.W.L.C.) is the flagship conference ministry of Truth Baptist Church. Each year we host the National S.W.L.C. here in Nyanya-Abuja, and our team travels to hold regional conferences in cities across the country. Pastors, workers and church members gather for preaching, practical training in evangelism, and fellowship with like-minded churches. Every church represented receives a box of Scriptures, and every morning attendee receives a conference manual.
Hosted at Truth Baptist Church, Nyanya-Abuja. Our largest gathering of the year, drawing delegates from churches right across Nigeria for several days of preaching and training.
We take the conference to the regions — meetings have been held in Jos, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Ogbomoso, hosted by partnering Independent Baptist churches.
Delegates are introduced to the wider work: Providence Baptist College & Seminary, S.M.I.T.E., the prison ministry, correspondence training and Christian media outreach.
Boxes of Scriptures are distributed to each church represented, alongside training manuals and materials from partnering mission agencies.
Pastors: contact us to register your church, or to enquire about hosting a regional conference in your city.

S.M.I.T.E. stands for the Student Missions Institute for Training in Evangelism. It is a five-day camp where teenagers from Bible-believing churches across Nigeria do more than listen to preaching — they are trained to reach others. Mornings are given to instruction in running Bible clubs, leading a child to Christ, teaching a Bible story, Scripture memory, leading singing and using evangelism tools. Afternoons put that training straight to work as teams go out and conduct Bible clubs in the surrounding area. Evenings close with preaching, special singing and drama presentations from the churches represented. The National camp is hosted here in Nyanya-Abuja, with regional camps elsewhere in Nigeria and sister camps in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana and Tanzania.
Instruction in conducting Bible clubs, winning children to Christ, teaching Bible stories, Scripture memory, leading songs and using evangelism tools.
Campers go out in teams to run Bible clubs in the local area, putting the morning's training into practice the very same day.
Preaching from Nigerian pastors and visiting preachers, with song specials and dramas presented by the churches attending.
Campers arrive having memorised a set list of passages: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, 2 Peter 3:18, Hebrews 9:22, Revelation 3:20, John 14:2-3 and 1 John 1:9.
Churches should confirm attendance numbers ahead of time by call, text or email. Camp begins Monday at 9:00 AM, so campers are encouraged to arrive for the Sunday evening service.
Pastors: if you would like to build a youth ministry in your church, let us equip your young people at S.M.I.T.E. Contact us with the number attending as early as possible.
"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel." — Mark 16:15
From the streets of Nyanya to churches across West Africa, outreach is at the heart of who we are. Every week our members go out in soulwinning and visitation, and our weekly Bible clubs carry the Gospel into homes across the city. We also support missionaries and church planting work at home and abroad, believing every local church shares in the Great Commission.
Teams go door to door and follow up visitors, sharing the Gospel and inviting families to church.

Join us on a Saturday for soulwinning and visitation — no experience needed, you will go out with an experienced member.
Every member a minister. Tell us where you'd like to get involved and we'll help you take the next step.
